Heart of Texas Eye Institute recently opened its doors to patients and celebrated this month by hosting a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on November 5th, 2016. Board-Certified ophthalmologists Lisa McIntire, MD and Lara Dudek, MD joined together to form Heart of Texas Eye Institute, a comprehensive ophthalmology practice that has brought the latest innovations in eye care to the Southwest Austin area.
Heart of Texas Eye Institute provides vision care that includes all-laser custom LASIK, laser-assisted cataract surgery, premium lenses implants for cataract patients, the treatment and management of corneal disease, the treatment and management of glaucoma, dry eye treatment and management, pterygium removal, diagnosis and treatment of ocular allergies. Heart of Texas Eye Institute also offers a full line of cosmetic procedures including eyelid rejuvenation (blepharoplasty), BOTOX® Cosmetics, and dermal fillers.

Dr. Lisa McIntire is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract removal, refractive (LASIK) surgery, and corneal transplants. Dr. Lara Dudek is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract-removal surgery, eyelid lift surgery (blepharoplasty), and comprehensive ophthalmology.
Dr. McIntire and Dr. Dudek work closely with local optometrists, which help greatly with the co-management of surgical cases. By doing this, patients often travel from all over the entire Austin, Texas region to have surgery at Heart of Texas Eye Institute, but have the option to return to their local optometrist for post-op appointments, which is sometimes more convenient for patients.
